I am Kishorilal Ahirwar, 34 year old. I did BSc and BEd and currently working as a guest faculty in a government school. I have 5 people in my family. All of them used to work for agriculture or daily wage laborers. Earlier, I used to believe that I am only a teacher and my responsibility is to only teach students, think about financial gains and focus only on family. When I heard about Gramin Swavlamban Samiti and their meetings in the villag, I started attending them.
I got to know that the members of the organisation are extending their hands to support the poor people and spread information about their legal rights. They are spreading awareness about girls education, health and discrimination.
Since then my mental frame changed.
I decided to work for society alongisde my role as a school teacher. I started listening to the problems of the poor and the underprivileged villagers and began to think about the solution. I asked myself how could I help them.
My uncle waited for months to get the voter ID, Kisan Nidhi papers; he was too worried about it. I asked him to not to get worried and that I would assist him in that. I talked to a BLO and submitted all the necessary papers in the Block. Now he is getting pensions.
I feel happy to help the poor. I used to get the information from organisation fellows and delivered that to the needy.
Now, I think girls get discriminated against in the society. Girls were not allowed to have private coaching. Now,I will talk to their parents about it. I observed that scuffle is taking place in many houses under the influence of alcohol. We all have to get united to work against it.
I got new ideas from Gramin Swavlamban Samiti, There has been a change in my behaviour. I got inspiration to work for my society. I believe that everyone should work for their society as well as their own job.
