Live with Dignity

I am Ram Kishan, 26 years old. I have studied up to the 8th grade. When I was 13 years old, I went to the forest to graze goats. There, I fell into a well and broke both my legs. I can’t walk anymore. There are six people in our house who work as agricultural labourers and goat herders.

When I came to know about the organization (Grameen Swalamban Samiti), I shared my problem, and the organization helped me a lot. First of all, the organization got my disability certificate issued and arranged my pension. They also provided me with a bicycle with an engine so that I can move around the village.

The organization boosted my confidence and helped me open a grocery shop in the village to stand on my own feet. They also assisted me in getting a loan of Rs. 30 thousand from the bank. Today, I earn a small income from the shop in the village. I want more support from the organization so that I can expand this shop further. I want to live with dignity.

I consider the organization a support for destitute people. Whenever the organization learns that a poor person is in trouble, they help and stand by him. The organization also helps poor girls with their education. Many girls are studying today. When there is any incident of molestation of any woman or girl, the organization helps them in getting justice.
