Increasing participation in household chores

I am Pramod Ahirwar 20 years old. I am a student of BA 2nd year BSW. My parents go to other cities to work as laborers. I, my sister and one brother live at home.

Earlier I believed that

-When guests come to the house, it is the girls’ job to provide tea and water.

-Girls are required to do household chores.

-Girls should not interfere with boys.

-Girls should remain within their limits.

-Boys should do outside work.

I joined Bal Panchayat in 2019. There was a change in my thinking and what I used to think about girls and women earlier was wrong.

I have talked about gender equality, child marriage, helpline number in Bal Panchayat. Know about laws related to women.

Now I participate in the work of the house, I fill water, cook food, help the sister in studies.

After joining Bal Panchayat, I stopped the marriage of a underage girl in the village.

I believe that no household work is divided on the basis of men and women, everyone should work together.

All boys should help their sisters in their studies.

It is wrong to molest girls; it is important to make boys understand.
