I also want to study in college

I am Sadhna Ahirwar, 21 years old. My parents work as laborers and go to Delhi. My siblings and I stay alone at home. Due to living away from our parents’ home, we missed school. The organization (Grameen Swalamban Samiti) is working on safe migration in our village. A Girls’ Council has been formed in the village, and we have also been connected with it.

Through the Girls’ Council, my sister and I have been enrolled in online education by the Azim Premji Foundation.

I have informed the organization that I will fill out the private form in July and enroll in college next year.

Our awareness has increased through the Girls’ Council, and now we confidently express our opinions. If there is any harassment against girls, we oppose it.

In the Girls’ Council, we are informed about child marriage, helpline numbers, women’s violence, and the POCSO Act.

I share the information I receive from the Girls’ Council with my friends and relatives. I tell them to call the helpline if they experience any harassment.
