Dhaba (roadside eatery) distributes government ration

I am Rajkumar Ahirwar, 26 years old and I have studied till BA. We used to live in a joint family of 30 members. Gramin Swavlaman Samiti assigns me with the responsibility to work as a social advocate. I have joined the organisation since 2018.

Initially, I used to only think about myself, about my study, my jobs and used think about my home development. I used to believe that what to do with village and society.

I used to think that girls and women were not to be treated like a men. Both have separate work divisions. I believed that the treatment meted out to them was fair.

As I joined the organisation, my thoughts got changed. I believe now, social reform is a collective responsibility. We have to take out time to work for underprivileged and needy people. Since then, parallel with domestic work, I started working for society.

I made a job card, sambhal card and other documents for in migration of workers so that he could work safely and nobody could exploit them. I assist the physically handicapped people in preparing the handicapped certificate, pension, BPL card for poor families and also made them aware about the helpline numbers.

I observed the discrepancies in PDA and advocated to stop the corruption in ration distribution. Earlier, ration got distributed at 7 kms away from Kantedar village on a Dhaba. Since my intervention, people are getting raion in the village itself.
